- on the operator's site or at the bus station
✈️ Plane
There are few direct flights from Batumi to Turkish cities and they are seasonal — almost always dearer and slower than the bus. Pointless for a visa run.
- Verdict:
- not an option for a day trip
🚶 How a visa run through Sarpi works
- 1Get to the border by minibus, bus or taxi.
- 2Clear Georgian passport control on the way out.
- 3Clear Turkish control on entry — the stamp goes in there.
- 4Turn around and clear Turkish control on the way out.
- 5Re-enter Georgia — the 365-day count starts again.
- 6Keep the stamps: they prove your stay is legal.

💬 Telegram chats: the borders
Sarpi crossing chat (Georgia — Turkey)
The queue at the border right now: how long cars are waiting, how the pedestrian lanes are moving, which lanes are open. Check before you set off — it changes within the hour.
Verkhny Lars crossing chat
The same for the Russian border: the queue, the weather on the pass and when the road closes for avalanches.
