The flea market
Where to buy and sell second-hand: the listing chats, and how not to get caught out.
checked in August 2026Half the furniture in rented flats changes hands through the city chats: people arrive and leave, and things go round in circles. This is the cheapest way to furnish a place — and the easiest way to clear it before you go.

🤝 How to buy and sell
- 1See the item in person: listing photos are generous, the condition can be otherwise.
- 2Meet somewhere busy, and test larger electronics in front of the seller.
- 3Do not send money up front to strangers — pay on the spot, in cash or by transfer.
- 4When selling, state the size, condition and price up front: without them the listing sinks.
- 5List large items well before you leave — they rarely go in a week.
